Summer Tips To Make Your Workout 1000% Better

Working out in the summer can be a little discouraging. It’s not exactly fun to start sweating two minutes after walking out of your doorsteps. However, if you enjoy exercising outside, there are a few tips you should keep in mind to make your workout experience better in the summer.

1) Wear Sunscreen!

Sunscreen is important especially if you’re planning on exercising outdoors. It helps protect from ultraviolet radiation. Don’t forget to reapply enough to prevent sunburn if you’ll be spending hours outdoors.

2) Don’t Forget Your Hat And Sunglasses.

Putting on a hat doesn’t only protect your hair, it provides extra coverage for your face. It’s also a good idea to wear sunglasses for protection and to avoid squinting all day outside.

3) Pack Extra Clothes!

Pack some extra clothes if you’re going to workout at a park, beach, or anywhere that’s not close to your house. The combination of heat and workout will make you sweat and it might be uncomfortable for you to continue wearing the same clothes after a couple of hours. If you typically don’t mind, pack extra clothes anyway. You might decide to go somewhere else or meet some friends on a whim.

4) Bring Food And Water.

You’re going to get hungry and thirsty, so bring some food and water. You’ll either get hungry because you worked out for a couple of hours or it’s lunch time. You’ll also need to drink a lot of water to hydrate especially after exercising while it’s sunny and hot.

5) Don’t Forget To Bring What You Need To Bring!

If you plan on playing some sort of a sport, don’t forget to bring the equipment and gear you’ll need. It’s not fun to go to a place and then realize that you forgot to bring whatever you needed for the sport you chose to play that day especially if the location is far.

Summer is such a fun season for many. It’s a great time to be outside and enjoy the nature and do countless activities. However, you should prepare for the heat outside, but don’t be discouraged. Consider this a mini checklist to get you started. Choose activities that you like or would like to try. Going outside isn’t just a way of being active, it’s a chance to enjoy the experience.

Question of the day:

What’s your favorite outdoor area to workout at?
